Your bride will spend hours finding the perfect wedding hairstyle and getting her makeup and nails just right. What about you? The groom needs grooming too, and you want to look your best.
Start your wedding day will a shower, and use a scented soap to leave you fresh, clean, and smelling great. Sprinkle some baby powder on your feet as they will most likely sweat in your shoes during the day. Once you've applied deodorant, put it in a bag so you can bring it with you to the ceremony venue. If the idea of a skincare routine makes you run in the other direction, don't worry. It's not as complicated as it sounds. By drinking lots of water, shaving after you've showered to exfoliate your skin, and moisturizing with a face cream you can have a glowing complexion for your walk down the aisle. Many spas have services that also cater to men, and a refreshing facial will have your skin in great shape in time for your wedding. Your hair is important for the wedding too – especially for photos. You don't want to look back in ten years and see your eyes hidden behind long bangs or cringe at your overuse of gel. A trim a week or so before the wedding will take care of split ends, and a good conditioner will add shine to your do. On the wedding day, use a light styling product – gel, hairspray or mousse – to set your style. Speaking of hair, go the extra step with your grooming and pluck and stray or overgrown eyebrow hairs. Also, get rid of nose hairs with a special trimmer that will painlessly have you looking well-groomed. If you have a beard or a moustache, make sure it's under control with a beard trimmer. Don't show up at the wedding with four days of stubble, or display the peach fuzz on your upper lip if you're attempting to grow a moustache. Handcare is often neglected by busy men, and especially if you have a job that has you spending a lot of time outdoors, or working with tools or machinery, your hands pay the price. Start by pushing back your cuticles every day – after a shower or bath is best as they will be softened. Moisturize with hand cream at least two times per day. If your hands and nails are a disaster, consider a professional manicure. You're hands will be seen by a lot of people on your wedding day, and you want them to be in tip-top shape. Avoid drastically changing your hairstyle or trying something new on your wedding day. A different skincare product could leave you blotchy if you have sensitive skin. Stay away from things like self tanners and hair dye right before your wedding. If something goes wrong, you'll be forced to spend your wedding day with an orange face or unevenly dyed hair. Stick with the basics, and you'll be perfectly groomed and ready for anything on your wedding day. |
