Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life - you want to create memories that will last a lifetime. The best way to capture the beauty and significance of your special day is through photos. Since your wedding photographs will be ones that you cherish forever, you want to make sure they're absolutely perfect. Here are some great tips on how to make sure that you have the best wedding photos that you'll love for many years to come.
Don't Skimp On The Photographer
Sure, you have a wedding budget. Almost every bride does. But the place to skimp if you have to is not on your photographer! You don't want to be limited by how many roles of film your photographer can take or by how many pictures he or she can take. You don't have to spend an arm and a leg or let your photographer take advantage of you, but skimping on how much you want to spend on a photographer may cause you to end up with mediocre wedding pictures. Remember - when the cake has been eaten, the dress has been hung in the closet and the guests have gone home, your wedding photos will still be hanging on your walls.
Take Candid Photos
By an overwhelming vote, brides like their candid wedding photos more than they like the posed ones. While it's always good to have a mix of both, candid photos really capture the beauty and emotion of your wedding day. You don't want to rely heavily or solely on posed photos - they don't speak as well as candid ones do. If you truly want to remember how you, your groom and your guests felt on your special day, have your photographer take lots of candid photos of you, your wedding party and your guests.
Go For Both Black and White and Color Photos
Chances are, you're going to have a few wedding pictures that aren't exactly what you were looking for. Whether therre are a few facial flaws or the lighting wasn't right, the photographer isn't always going to catch you at your best. You'd be surprised though, at how many photos can be saved by converting them to black and white - what flaws were there suddenly disappear and the photo becomes an instant classic. You can also have your photographer initially take the photos in black and white using black and white film or digital photography.
No matter how you go about it, just remember that your wedding photos are going to be the very last remnants of the most important day of your life as time passes and you and your husband grow older. Make sure you have a great photographer you trust and candid photos that illustrate how wonderful your wedding day was - the proof will be in your wedding album for years and years to come!
