Many brides - if not most - choose to serve some type of alcohol at their wedding reception. Some choose to have a cash bar and others choose to serve an array of cocktails of their choice and really, it's up to you to decide what you'd like to do. Sophisticated wedding cocktails aren't just for black tie weddings anymore - you can impress your guests by offering these classic and upscale drinks at your wedding reception.

The Classic Martini

Just about everyone loves a really great martini - that is, if it's done well. Serve with olives or cocktail onions and make sure you have a great bartender.

Bloody Mary

This is a very traditional drink that is usually served anywhere, but is actually an acquired taste. Serve them at your wedding reception for a sophisticated touch.

Have your bartender throw a dash of wasabi or horseradish in for a spicy Bloody Mary - just make sure they throw in an extra celery stalk or two!

Bellini

Bellini's are great "frou-frou" drinks that don't go over the top. They're sweet and delicious but pack quite a punch.

Screwdriver

You just can't mess this one up - it's a perfect classic! It's also quite inexpensive to serve as there isn't a large list of liquors that need to be on hand.

Try different citrus juices - limeade, cherry limeade, grapefruit juice, lemonade . . . you name it and you can make a screwdriver out of it!

Long Island Ice Tea

Make sure your guests hail a cab home if they've been drinking this classic cocktail. It contains several different liquors that will knock even a grown man down.

Add any flavoring you would to regular tea - raspberry and peach work exceptionally well.

Daquiris, Margaritas and Coladas

These are classic drinks that just about everyone loves. Frozen or on the rocks, they're always delicious and your guests are sure to enjoy them.

Every drink looks better with an umbrella in it!

No matter what cocktails you choose to serve at your wedding, your guests will appreciate this small but meaningful detail.
