Every chic and savvy bride needs to know what the top wedding trends are for the current season. Each year, the top wedding trends change and chic and savvy brides start doing different things.  Popular colors, design and even dresses change from year to year and just about every bride wants a piece of the cake, so to speak.  You can incorporate the trends you like into your wedding look to give it a stylish touch and forget about the trends you don't like. Incorporate many of the newest trends into your wedding ceremony and reception to give it a modern, trendy look or choose just a few to add that little something special.  Before you know it, you'll begin shaping a wedding ceremony and reception that is uniquely your own and ultimately, one that will create beautiful memories for years to come.

Green Weddings

Considering the current state of our environment, it makes sense that couples would want to incorporate "green" touches to their weddings. You may choose to serve only organically grown food or use flowers grown without the use of pesticides. Many couples will choose to use recycled paper for invitations, stationery, placecards and ceremony programs and others will keep their wedding simple and utilize a more "natural" or "earthy" look.

Wedding Dress Details

Many brides are fashioning many of their wedding details with inspiration from the delicate elements of their wedding dresses. Cakes can be decorated with icing in the same pattern as the skirt embroidery and if the dress has pearls or rhinestones, these can be incorporated into centerpices and bridesmaid bouquets as well. Take a closer look at the details in your dress and use your imagination to come up with different ways you can incorporate these designs into other areas of your wedding ceremony and reception.

Splashes of Color

Many brides are incorporating color in unusual places when it comes to dreaming up the details for their wedding. Some brides choose to wear colorful shoes that will only be seen on the dance floor or using bright and bold napkins next to the china on the reception tables. You can put color wherever you like in your wedding - just make sure you don't overdo it. Splashes of color catch the eye but don't overwhelm it, as opposed to drenching your pews and reception tables in bold hues.

Destination Weddings

Couples are embracing destination weddings more than ever this year - it's a great way to combine a beautiful and special ceremony with your get-away honeymoon. These weddings usually tend to be small, due to the fact that many guests are not able to attend, and may end up being less expensive than a huge ceremony closer to home. Great places for destination weddings include the Caribbean, Bora Bora, Italy, Scotland and Mexico.

Tousled Hair

No longer are brides requesting that their stylists create perfectly coiffed, hairsprayed up-dos for their wedding look. More brides are borrowing from celebrity fashion trends and choosing to have long, flowing hair accented by a simple flower or a slightly tousled bun with a jeweled comb.

Regardless of what wedding trends you choose to embrace and which ones you choose to throw in the bin, keep in mind that your wedding is a reflection of you and your hubby-to-be. Use your instincts to create something that is uniquely your own - your guests will appreciate it and you'll remember it for the rest of your life!
