Wedding Ideas

Couples who are planning a wedding have virtually unlimited options for wedding decorations, flowers, and attire. Whether they choose to have an informal Western wedding or an elegant fairy-tale reception, it's possible to find themed favors, decorations, and wedding clothing for any celebration. If you're looking for wedding ideas, here are some theme suggestions for themes:

Beach Weddings: The beach wedding has greatly increased in popularity. It has a casual, carefree feel to it, and the sun and sand make for a perfect backdrop. The bride and groom usually dress in loose, flowing clothes – a white sundress or strapless wedding gown for the bride, and a Hawaiian shirt or short-sleeved dress shirt for the groom. Serve fresh seafood, tapas and fruit desserts. You can find beach-themed decor and favors to create the perfect seaside wedding: seashell-shaped tealights, blue and white tulle for decorating chairs and tables, and sandal keychains or place card holder for wedding favors.

Destination Weddings: There are a range of options for destination wedding locations. For couples who want a quick, simple wedding, a chapel in Las Vegas might be the ideal place for them to walk down the aisle (or cruise through the drive-through chapel if they choose)! Other couples plan a large ceremony and reception in Hawaii or the Caribbean, or an intimate ceremony at a historic bed and breakfast. Destination weddings can cost much less than traditional weddings, especially if the bride and groom invite only a few close friends and family members.

Western Weddings: For the modern day cowboy and cowgirl, a Western wedding is a great chance to enjoy a laid back wedding party. The wedding party and guests dress in jeans and cowboy boots, and decor is very simple: bales of hay, fun pistol-shaped wedding favors, and gingham tablecloths and linens. You can have a Western barbecue with sides of salad and cornbread. As wedding favors, give cowboy boot candleholders or personalized drink mixes of lemonade and iced tea.

Asian Weddings: Evoke the exotic beauty of Asia with a Chinese or Japanese-themed wedding. The decor style of an Asian wedding is uncomplicated and subtle, such as vases filled with smooth stones and bamboo shoots, and crisp white tablecloths and napkins. Red is often used as an accent color – in Asia, red is the color of the bridal gown rather than white. Serve sushi, traditional Chinese food or a mix of Western and Asian food. Keep your guests cool with paper fan wedding favors, and use place cards with Asian lettering or designs.

Garden Wedding: An outdoor garden wedding is a wonderful idea for summer – any other season and you risk bad weather. The beauty of the flowers and trees makes decorating for a summer wedding easy – all you need are your table decorations, and a rental tent if you choose to have a covered ceremony or reception. A garden wedding is an ideal venue for a wedding brunch or tea party. Food at a garden wedding is light: sandwiches, fresh fruit and salads will satisfy guests without leaving them stuffed.
